The Department of Commerce was established in 1999. Initially, it offered only the B.Com course. However, since 2009-2010, it has expanded its offerings to include the M.Com course, specifically targeting students from rural areas, thus providing opportunities for postgraduate education. Additionally, the department has introduced skill-oriented courses such as Certificate Course in Retail Marketing and New Technology, Tally ERP-9.0, and Investment Planning. The Development aims to create employment opportunities for students. Furthermore, remedial courses have been initiated for slow learners. The department has successfully organised a National level seminar. It regularly hosts a commerce festival to raise awareness about banking, markets, and industries while fostering students' overall personality development. To enhance the teaching-learning process, the department is equipped with ICT facilities. The department emphasises research and extension activities with a highly qualified and experienced teaching staff consisting of five faculty members, including one SET qualified, two with M.Phil, and two with Ph.D. qualifications. Faculty members have published research papers in international and national journals and actively participate in seminars and conferences. Moreover, students are motivated and guided to undertake research projects, which are mandatory for all commerce students.

The Commerce department has a separate section with a cabin for its administration. There are separate classrooms and one commerce lab for conducting lectures.

The departmental library of commerce has many reference books, research journals, students’ projects, CDs, and DVDs available.
Duration:-
The B.Com course is three years long and consists of three parts: Part I, Part II, and Part III. Each part has Two Semesters, so the course has Six Semesters. For each semester, there are six papers with 100 marks each.
